The valve core of the cylindrical plug valve is a cylinder, which is matched with the cylindrical surface of the valve seat to form a cylindrical sealing pair. Generally, four sealing methods are often used for cylindrical plug valve, namely, sealing with sealant, expanding with plug, sealing with O-shape and wedging sealing ring with eccentric plug.
The valve core of the conical plug valve is a cone, which is matched with the conical hole surface of the valve seat to form a conical surface sealing pair. The leakage gap between sealing pairs of conical plug valve can be adjusted by pressing the valve core deeper into the valve seat. When the spool is in close contact with the seat, the plug can still rotate.
